What Are Dental Implants?

They are artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed into the jaw as a replacement of missed or damaged teeth. They can be used to replace either a single tooth or complete teeth set. These implants consist of two parts – the first part is the base or root which looks like a screw or cylinder, while the second part is called a crown which looks exactly like a tooth. The root or base is made of a metal Titanium which is anchored to the jaw bone as it is one of the most biocompatible material and the crown is made of ceramic.
